we’re in a storefront!!!

WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN A STORE.

but let’s take it back to how it all unfolded.

i had been searching for some stores to put my products in. i hadn’t had much luck yet. until…

i stumbled across a facebook post of a new and upcoming store coming soon to copperas cove. the owners of a delicious breakfast joint and the local movie theater were adding another addition. i saw they were looking for vendors and i immediately reached out. after reaching out, we felt we were a good fit! yay!! I went another day to check out the contract and fully decide if i wanted to actually go through with it. (spoiler alert, i did.) after signing the contract, i drove home to tell my husband. who greeted me with a huge bear hug. it was an exciting day!

flash forward to a phone call a couple days later. we set up an appointment to drop off the inventory list and product. as y’all know, i make all our items in small batches. with this said, i had a lot of work to do to get prepared. nonetheless, very pumped. a week of rest due to not feeling well and getting some extra supplies ordered, i had one week to get at it. if you haven’t learned by now, i sorta thrive on getting shit done in a small time frame. (toxic trait, i know) well, countless straight nights of little to no rest and all nighters, i got that shit done. i did call in my husband for help at the very end for all the double checking and what not. his sleep deprived self who needs to go to bed at 8pm was struggling. typical night owl and not a night owl marriage. i was ecstatic looking at all the product i completed.

between staying up all day to maintain our family and household, dealing with the animals and trying to get products made, the website updated, all the backend labels created and made, then staying up late to work in my quiet hours, plus early mornings to get supplies, i was exhausted. meanwhile, our car was still in the shop with my husband trying to work on it when he wasn’t working. chaos. tuesday, i had an interview for another shop, some overdue order drop offs and errands. wednesday, I needed to pick up our azure order. fun fact, don’t order 500 lbs of feed ingredients and pick them up in a buick. it’s a tight fit if you have an occupied back seat. not only that, i had to run to buda to grab our 60 lbs of honey from no other than keepers harvest. (can’t appreciate them enough for making our last minute order work) i restocked the duck/chicken feed that night and the goat feed. then went back home and continued working. mind you, i worked in the car while sitting at my husband’s job in between errands. thursday was a packed day of getting labels on and sealing all the products that needed to be sealed. friday, i dropped off our product and then took our the stray kitten that appeared in our yard to the vet. i got a little bit of a breather and a much needed coffee (with extra espressso).

in the midst of all this, i missed our one year anniversary of creating from the kitchen of a! we’ll celebrate soon.

throughout this whole process, i was reminded of how much of a badass i truly am. i work incredibly hard, i am passionate about what i do and i give my whole self to everything i do. sometimes, we forget who we are at our core in life. you just to never forget your core. no matter what that means. life can throw us on our asses sometimes, get the fuck back up and show life who it’s messing with. keep those around you that can remind you when you forget. i wouldn’t have gotten this far had i not had some solid people in my corner. remove those who drain you of your energy and keep close those who add and fuel it.
